Wenger still hopes to bring in new players

Alexander Hleb, Mathieu Flamini and Gilberto have already left Gunners this season and £12 million boy Samir Nasri has been the only signing so far. Arsenal Boss admits he needs to bring in a new midfielder in this summer transfer window.

With young talent Nasri as the only new signing there have been calls for Wenger to bring in an experience midfielder for his rather young talented midfield. Xabi Alonso and Gareth Barry have both been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium but Wenger does not want to comment the rumours.

He says: “We have still a long time to go. When you have experience of transfer dealings, you know that as long as something is not signed you know it can change very quickly so you can look very silly, so you don’t want to come out and announce it.”

He added: “We are out to look, if we find the right players we will do it, one or two”.

Wenger will not be concerned about financing new players. Arsenal director Danny Fizman says Wenger has the money to spend – £30 million on one player if he has to.

Talking to the Russian version of uefa.com Pavlyuchenko claims he will be joining Tottenham Hotspurs for a fee of £15 million.

The Russian top goal scorer in this summer’s European Championship admits he will not feature in Spartak Moscow’s third – round Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kiev.

“I will not play in Kiev. Everything has happened very quickly so I could not even say goodbye to my team-mates”, Pavlyuchenko added.

Spartak Moscow’s general manager, Valery Karpin, admits Spurs’ offer has been accepted. “There is a concrete sum which Tottenham proposed and we have agreed the amount”, he told the Soviet Sport newspaper.

“If Roman will agree a contract then we are ready to let him go. If Roman begins to play in England, this will be good both for him and for the team.”

The Transfer will be welcomed by all Tottenham Hotspurs supporters. The time is ticking for Spurs boss Juande Ramos who needs to bring in new srikers for his squad. With Robbie Keane’s move to Liverpool and even if Dimitar Berbatov fails to join Manchester United, Ramos will still be short of top skrikers.
