Kevin Keegan has decided to quit his job as Manager for Newcastle due to problems with the directors.

The statement was published by League Manager’s Association and came as a surprise to many. It hasn’t been a secret that the directors and Keegan had different points of view how to run a football club.
The ex-manager says: “I have been working desperately hard to find a way forward with the directors, but sadly that has not proved possible. It’s my opinion that a manager must have the right to manage and that clubs should not impose upon any manager any player that he does not want. It remains my fervent wish to see Newcastle United do well in the future and I feel incredibly sorry for the players, staff and most importantly the supporters. I have been left with no choice other than to leave.“
It seems that the fans take Keegan’s side and have expressed discontent to the executive director Dennis Wise and the Mike Ashley, who is the head of the owners.
David O’Leary and Everton’s David Moyes have been mentioned as possible new managers for the Magpies.
