With last week’s crucial 2 – 1 victory Arsene Wenger described Arsenal as being back in the title race. With 31 points in 15 games this has been an all right season for Arsenal. Especially in the light of the injury problems Arsenal have had the last month. With players like Bendtner, van Persie and Eduardo missing in the attack it’s has been Vela and Arshavin’s job to score goals for the gunners.  Burnley wasn’t predicted any chance as they visited Emirates stadium today but a good day for goalkeeper Jensen could do the job for Burnley.

After the weekend’s poor performance which ended in a 1 – 2 defeat to Arsenal at Anfield, Liverpool desperately needed a win against Wigan. With both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard back from injuries Liverpool Boss Rafa Benitez was forced to secure the home victory. It has been in disappointing season so far for the Merseyside club 6 lost games so far and only 24 points in 16 games which place them as number 7 in the Premier League.

Tottenham and Manchester City both targets the 4^th place in the premiership which is a ticket for the UEFA Champions League. But the competition is hard and teams like Liverpool and Aston Villa also want Champions League football next year. Manchester City has spent millions of pounds on new players this summer and therefore the pressure is high on Mark Hughes’ side which have already drawn 8 times this season.  Tottenham on the other hand needed a win after last the weekend’s shocking defeat at White Hart Lane against newly promoted Wolverhampton.
