Substitute Ryan Babel scored the winning goal in Rafael Benitez first ever premier league win against Manchester United.

Ryan Babel came off the bench and scored the winning goal in the 77th minute. Although, it did not start as Benitez had planned. Just 3 minutes in to the game Argentine international Carlos Tevez scored after a brilliant set-up by new boy Dimitar Berbatov. It was the perfect start from the guest but the home side got level with a 27th minute own goal by Wes Brown.

In the second half Liverpool controlled the match and had several good opportunities to take the lead. The break came in 77th minute where Ryan Babel finished off a nice Liverpool move to win the game.
